Goat's Milk and Lavender

A very good friend of mine wanted my opinion on a product that she had purchased, but unfortunately I had not tried it before.  I am talking about goat's milk and lavender (from Tihany) soap, so here we go, instead I'll be writing about the two main ingredients in this product :).

First, let's start with the goat's milk.  From my experience most products containing milk all have good effects on the skin.  Goat's milk however, doesn't just have good results on the outside, but on the inside as well.  As many of you already know goat's milk is very similar to mother's milk, which is why it is often recommended to those mother's who are breastfeeding and do not have enough milk or to those who want a healthier and more natural alternative to baby formula.  According to my Grandmother, a child who was fed with goat's milk will not suffer from any allergies later in life.  Therefore it is easy to see why goat's milk is good for one's body.

Milk products in general do your body loads of good, from strengthening your teeth and bones to keeping your skin in good condition as well.  In the past, women who could afford it would often bathe in pure milk.  Once when I was on holiday in Gyula I had the opportunity to treat myself to a bath named after Cleopatra herself.  It wasn't anyting complicated, I had a tub to myself and milk and honey were added to my bathwater, which I soaked in for 20 minutes.  My skin was very soft afterwards, but the bath itself proved to be very soothing :), that's why, when I can I will add one or two cupfuls of milk to my bathwater at home.

Lavender also does wonders both inside and out.  I can recommend drinking lavender tea, especially the Hungarian brand from Herbaria or using lavender essential oil in your bathwater or dripped onto your pillow for its soothing effects (you can ask for essential oils at you pharmacy!).

Lavender essential oil is often used during bathing because it  helps increase your blood circulation, making it ideal for the elderly and those suffereing from circulation problems.

So all in all, even though I have not tried this specific product, I have no doubts in its health benefits :) and I would definitely try this product out myself any time :).
